Sbisa's Cafe

Originally a Ship's Chandlery and Bordello in the 1820s, the building was purchased by the Sbisa family in 1899. This was the start of Cafe Sbisa which catered to an eclectic clientele of travelers and businessmen. In 1978 the restaurant was purchased by Dr. Larry Hill and became the place to be for the locals. The restaurant was surprisingly closed in 2005, then reopened in 2013. The interior still relfects the rich past. Our back bar is of beautiful mahogany dating back to 1903. Above our gorgeous bar is a painting by famous artist, George Dureau, a New Orleans native and regular patron of Cafe Sbisa. The characters in the painting are other regulars patrons, Cafe Sbisa Employees, and friends of Dureau. He even included himself among the interestng crowd. The gorgeous painting has adorned above the bar since the 1970s. At Sbisa's, we honor the history of our wonderful restaurant and stay true to the old world feel.
